WHO WRITES THIS CRAP?

DAMN! He's SEXY!!!

My name is Jeff Wall. I was born and raised in Lebanon, TN, but had to leave Wilson County to find someone to date that I wasn't kin to. I am a freelance writer who's work has appeared in No Depression, American Songwriter, Country Music Magazine, Country Weekly, CMT Magazine, HARP, PASTE, and other fine publications. In addition to writing, I am also a musician. Not necessarily a good musician, but since when has that ever stopped anybody? I play acoustic guita and mandolin, as well as vocalizing. I play Hillbilly music. It may have started out as Rock, Country, Bluegrass, or even Disco, but when I'm done with it, It's Hillbilly music. I spent 20 years in teh Navy and have played music all over the world. I have played music with, opened up shows for, and toted a bunch of big ass sound equipment and luggage for, a whole bunch of famous and infamous people you might or might not have ever heard of.

My goal as a musician/entertainer is to hit the small time. I want to play a couple of times a month, no more than an hour or so from the house. Play some little shithole bar, make a $100, and come back home and crawl into bed with my wife before she gets a chance to forget who I am. Everybody I know who plays music for a living is aiming for the top. I hope they all make it, that's because it will leave more room at the bottom for me.

I don't know if you have noticed or not, but print outlets, andespecially print outlets that pay writers, are getting to be few and far between. I am grateful to the few paying gigs I have left. There are more things, people, and projects that I want to write about than I can find publications that are willing to publish them. That's what the Twangzine is for, an outlet for me to write about the things that excite me.
